Sales Analyst

This position will be an integral part of the Sales Operations Commercial Analytics team. They will use their expertise in hands-on data gathering and analytical skills to derive actionable insight into the key drivers behind both sales and profitability trends, by customer and product categories. They will gather data from multiple internal sources to produce action oriented dynamic reports. They will also work closely with colleagues in Finance, IT, and Master Data to ensure consistent data, methodology, and reporting.

 

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Gathering data from multiple SAP BW-based internal sources to produce excel-based action-oriented dynamic reports   
  • Publishing routine sales reports on a weekly and monthly basis
  • Project Management: Lead cross-functional analytical initiatives in order to troubleshoot, problem solve and improve internal processes
  • Handling ad-hoc reporting and analytical requests from the sales organization and cross-functional teams
  • Analyzing large datasets in order to identify key drivers and diagnose data discrepancies
    • Extracting, mining, and marrying datasets
  • Managing data governance on behalf of the sales organization and sales operations team  
  • Manage and train colleagues on 3rd party data applications and data visualizations tools such as Lumira and SAP Analytics Cloud    
  • Partnering with the Key Account Managers and BU Leads to drive sales effectiveness and improve profitability by ensuring that they receive the information and insights they need in order to  manage their customer and product mix

  • Keen ability to simplify a complex business – drive ways to analyze a business in the most simple and actionable ways
  • Successful in telling a story through data and analytics in concise and impactful way
  • Interpret trends and derive actionable insight into the key drivers behind both sales and profitability trends
  • Produce dynamic reports using MS Excel, Power Point, SAP, 3rd party data applications

 

 

Preferred Skills & Experience:

  • 5+ years of experience in a related field including business analytics, finance, or sales support
  • Undergraduate degree in business, finance, or related field
  • Excellent analytical skills and proficiency within Excel and Powerpoint
  • Superior data mining and analytical skills to identify trends across multiple data sources
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills to properly articulate insight derived from the data
  • Experience building Excel-based pivot tables and data models is required
  • Experience in actively using SAP Business Warehouse is an asset
  • Experience in actively using a structured Sales & Operation Planning process (S&OP) is an asset
  • Experience within Consumer Packaged Goods or Food preferred
